Trestleboard, August 2017
Mountain City Lodge No. 67 / Lexington, VA
From the East
Brethren,

I hope all has gone well for everyone this summer holiday season. We will be gearing up again in the months to come. We have seven brothers and good men to take through several degrees over the next few months. I'm asking that all members of our Lodge step up and get these brothers and men through these degrees by coming to practice and participating in the degrees – or just being there for support on the sideline; who knows – you may want to try a part.

We will start this month by bringing Mr. Abraham Murphy to light with the EA degree on August 24th, Thursday, at 7:00 pm. Practice will be Aug.16th and 23rd 7:00 pm.

Our Lodge was active again in our community this past July 4th, assisting with the annual Lexington bike parade by serving over 350 hot dogs and drinks. The event on our part was spearheaded by Br. SW John Morman and assisted by Brs. John Dester, Jim Gilaspey and his two grandsons, Jeff Jackson, Matt Jackson, Brent Fellows, Jack Glisson – and cameo appearances in the parade by Brs. Jesse Lyons, Brad Hastings, Clyde McGuffin, and Jimmy Southers.

Special thanks to all of you: you all did our Lodge PROUD!! These kind of social activities are what shows our community what Masonry in general, and our Lodge in particular, is about, So keep the ideas and participation coming, brothers. I'm proud of all of you. Thanks, and God bless!

Fraternally,

John J. Mulligan WM
